Keel-laying ceremony for our new builds - Next Generation "B" Class MPV

25 APR 2024

We’re thrilled to announce a significant milestone in the expansion of the PCL fleet with the successful keel laying of a state-of-the-art modern 40,000 DWT Multi-Purpose Vessel, Hull H1053 jointly designed with PaxOcean.

Together with Hull H1052 who had her keel laying earlier this month, the 2 sister vessels will be deployed on the PACC Line PABX Service.

Being just one ship-cycle away from 2050, this fuel-efficient and LNG ready new build is a definitive step that PCL is taking towards realising its 2050 goal of achieving net zero carbon emissions.

Capt Chubasco Monteiro, our Divisional Director, Drybulk & Projects and Acting Director, Fleet Management says, “Innovation and Sustainability is a priority for our business and we have taken bold steps to ensure that we make significant progress in this space. Having 50 years of experience behind us and broad depth within the Group in the Maritime industry, we have worked to optimize the design to meet our customers’ needs and high standards. This vessel is purpose-built for the safe and efficient transportation of breakbulk, bulk and project cargo that will contribute to the global energy transition .”
